Wanda and Jukey Celino Get Hitched

The Blushing Bride

[ Nikon D50 and AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 D ]
[ 1/1000s f/3.5 ISO800 50mm ]

It's actually been weeks since Jukey and Wanda tied the knot, but I had to post up my favorite photo from their wedding. The rest of my photos of the event are here.

The entire set was shot with my trusty 'Primo' and I'm happy to say it's again proved its worth. Luckily my assignment as backup on the day was strictly candids, so I didn't need to do group shots which would have needed a wider lens. I really leaned on the gear on this one, using continuous mode, AF-A and high ISO all throughout. I hate to say it coming from 'prosumer' digital rangefinders, but I would not have gotten many good shots if I was using a laggy, 'noisy' digital camera.

I've come away from this with a lot of lessons learned and a greater appreciation of the work wedding photographers do. It's chaotic, intense, exhausting, frustrating, and fun all at the same time. At least that's how it felt at a wedding shoot covered by a bunch of rank amateurs.

Thanks to the happy couple for the chance to do some 'serious' wedding shooting. I hope we've all done a good job and given them a lot of nice memories to look back on. Posted by Picasa
